Iran has introduced domestic oil
rationing.
A report on Tehran Radio said that the
State-run National Ira÷ian Oil Compa÷y
had been forced to impose rationing on
supplies to the domestic market.
The announcement follows the cutting of
Iranian oil production yesterday to
7OO,OOO barrels a day, only 1OO,OOO
more than the level rated necessary to
meet local demand.
Oil workers are striking in opposition
to the continued rule of the Shah.
