The prospect of a stable performance by
the London stock market next year has
emerged from a survey of City opinion.
Most of those questioned said wage
bargaining was likely to unsettle the
market over the next few months; but
any sign of lower short-term interest
rates should improve sentiment.
Share sectors getting wide endorsement
included banks, electronics and major
oil compa÷ies.
Property shares were also favoured; and
insurance shares won a firm following.
