Composer RON GRAINER has died at his
home in Cuckfield, Sussex, at the
age of 57.
Mr Grainer was probably best known
for his BBC theme tunes - which
included those for Maigret, Dr Who
and Panorama.
Mr Grainer was born in Australia,
and came to Britain in 1952.
He had suffered from cancer for the
last two years and had been seriously
ill for a fortnight.
He leaves a widow and one son.
