 ■ The American insurance-broking giant,

 Marsh & McLennan, is offering to buy   

 out its small UK shareholders.         

                                        

 Following its takeover of the British  

 broking group, CT Bowring, investors on

 this side of the Atlantic ended up with

 around a quarter of the company.       

                                        

 Now Marsh says it will buy UK holdings 

 of 15 or less shares, free of dealing  

 costs and at the average market price  

 over the three days ending March 31.   

                                        

 Marsh is also arranging for dividends  

 to be paid direct and in sterling.
