 ■ The new US Transportation Secretary, 
 Mr Drew Lewis, has warned that he might
 recoUlfnd some kind of restriction on  
 imports of Japanese cars.              
                                        
 Speaking in Michigan, he said the US   
 car industry must m-fe concessions,    
 possibly including price cuts.         
                                        
 He also said the industry would have to
 redirect capital investment away from  
 spending abroad and into US prograllfs 
 to increase productivity.              
                                        
 ■ Nissan says it does not expect its
