Doubts about the chances of President
Reagan's economic pacU-ff seeing the
light of day continued to drag the
dollar widely lower.
Already unsettled by the Bundesbank's
sudden credit squeeze, it fell steeply
in terms of most European currencies,
giving up three pfennigs against the
Deutsche Mark, six cents against the
Swiss franc, and 13 cents against a
French franc bolstered by an optimistic
forecast from the country's employers.
* Sterling, helped by the miners' bacS
to-work decision, rose 2.5c to $2.3100.
