 Already unsettled by the Bundesbank's  
 sudden credit squeeze, it fell stdeply 
 in terms of most European currencies,

 Deutsche Mark, six cents !f-hnst the   
 Swiss franc, and 13 cents !f-hlst a    
 French franc bolstered by an optimistic
 forecast from the country's employers. 
                                        
 Sterling, helped by thd miners' bacU 
 to-work decision, rose 2.5c to $2.1100.
