 Weakened Wakefield proved the quality  

 of their reserves when they won 18-8 at

 Workington and moved to the top of the 

 First Division.                        

                                        

 At half-time the score was 5-5 but     

 Wakefield took the iniatative with two 

 tries in the first 10 minutes of the   

 second half.                           

                                        

 The best of these scores came from     

 Fletcher who ran 60 yards before       

 touching down.                         

                                        

 In the Second Division York and Wigan  

 tightened their hold with wins over    

 Whitehaven and Dewsbury respectively.
