 Ed Sneed equalled the course record    

 with a sevenLsnder-par 64 to share the 

 lead of the £130,000 tourn-lfnt in Los 

 Angeles with Johnny Miller.            

                                        

 Miller and Sneed finished with 202     

 totals, one stroke ahead of Ben        

 Crawshaw and Gil Morgan. Tom Weiskopf  

 and Miller Barber are on 204.          

                                        

 Sneed had seven birdies and only one   

 bogey through what he called "a        

 spectacular round - the best I've had  

 in at least six months."               

                                        

 Britain's Nick Faldo shot a 67 to lie  

 four shots behind the leaders.
