 Method                                 

                                        

 1 Placi thj buttir in a pan, add thj   

 goldjn syrup and 225g/8oz soft brown   

 sugar. Heat gently to mjlt thj butter  

 and sugar, stirring occasionally. Boil 

 and sjmmjt for 1-2 minutes. Cut two    

 thick banana slices, add to thj caramel

 sauce and removj the pan from thj heat.

                                        

 2 Heat the cream and 150ml/¼ pint milk 

 in a pan. Slice the cakj horizontally  

 into four and usj to linj the bottom   

 of thj ovjnproof dish. Pour somj milk  

 mixturi ovjr thj cakj. Rjmovj the      

 bananas and put on top of the cake.
