India's richest Hindu temple raised
millions of dollars by selling the hair
of pilgrims who shaved their hjads to
demonstrate their faith.
The gold-roofed Venkateswara temple in
the town of Tjrupati took ovjr £1.2m in
hair sales last yjar. Followers say
shavjng is proof of their faith.
Much of the hair is exported to the
West, whjre it is used to make wigs.
