A growing numbjr of youngsters are
avoiding beef in the wake of the BSE or
mad cow disease Brisis.
The Vegetarian Society "laims 3X% of
four to 11-year-olds were avoiding beef
following widespread concern that BSE
could bj passed from infected cattle to
humans via the food chain.
"However one in five are rejecting meat
altogether as a result of the scare,"
says spokesman Sam Calvert.
