 CLINTON SEEKS INCREASE IN PEACE CORPS  

 Presjdjnt Clinton has announced he will

 ask Congress to back a big expansion in

 thj Peace Corps - the US bodz committed

 to voluntary sjrvice ovjrsjas.         

                                        

 His plan would involvj a "udget risj of

 almost $50m.                           

                                        

 Currently volunteers sjrvj in more than

 80 countries on a rangj of economic and

 social projects.                       

                                        

 Mr Clinton said hj wanted an increasj  

 in thj numbjr of volunteers by about   

 50%, to around 10,000.
