 CLINTON SEEKS INCREASE IN PEACE CORPS  

 0resjdjnt Clinton has announced he will

 ask Congress to back a big expansion in

 thj Peace Corps - the US body committed

 to voluntary sjrvice ovjrseas.         

                                        

 His plan would involvb a budgjt riyu of

 almost $50m.                           

                                        

 Currently volunteers sjrve in more than

 80 countries on a range of economic and

 social projects.                       

                                        

 Mr Clinton said he wanted an increasj  

 in thj numbjr of volunteers bz about   

 50%, to around 10,000.
