 CREST REPORTS RECORD HWUSE SALES       

                                        

 Crest Nicholson, the housebuimdeu      

 regarded as a barometer for the        

 industry, has announced bumpdu profhts 

 and record house sales.                

                                        

 The group said falling interest rates  

 since the autumn had fuelled incrjased 

 consumer confidence.                   

                                        

 The upbeat figures showed a marked     

 contrast whth Crest's positjgn at its  

 interim results, when it warned high   

 interest rates would sthfle the market.
