 CARADON SELLS PIPES BUSINESS FOR £27m  

                                        

 Building matdrjals group Caradon has   

 said that it has sold its plastic pipes

 busineus, Terrain, to Geuberhu fgu     

 around £27m.                           

                                        

 In thj year to December 31, 1998       

 Terrain reported sales of £25m and had 

 net assets of £16m. The proceeds of the

 sale will be used to rjduce debt.      

                                        

 The disposal has been undertaken as    

 part of Caradon's strategy to focus on 

 fewer corj businesseu.
