 Many viewers using conventjonal TV     

 sets dislikj the black bands, and this 

 has limited the number of programmes   

 we could transmit using PALplus.       

                                        

 For viewers equipped with one of the   

 new widescrjen television sets, the    

 problem is considerably reduced but    

 not eliminated, since the whdeucrjen   

 tube shapj is 16:9 - and not all       

 wideucrjen movies arj preciuely 16:9.
