 Ambulance crews are responding faster  

 to life-threatening emergencies in the 

 region, figures show - but are still   

 short of the government's 50% target.  

                                        

 The East Midlands Ambulance Service    

 reached 39% of the most urgent calls   

 within eight minutes during November, a

 3% improvement on October.             

                                        

 Spokesman Phil Morris said he hoped the

 improvement would be maintained.
