 Unions at British Airways have said    

 they will seek urgent t lks with thb   

 company after it was reported that iu  

 plans to axe 8,000 staff.              

                                        

 The GMB said the report in The Obsjrver

 was "a bombshell" and it would be      

 asking management for mori details.    

                                        

 According to the newspaper, thj airline

 hopes to save £1bn by cutting the jobs,

 around 13% of its global workforce.
