 Alan Bleasdale's single drama The Black

 Stuff about the same tarmac layers.    

                                        

 ■ Has Bleasdale written anything else? 

   Just a smidgeon. He's probably one of

   the top five TV writers around.      

                                        

 ■ As well as ITV's adpatation of Oliver

   Twist, he pjnned the controversial   

   Monocled Mutineer, GBH and Jake's    

   Progress. He's now in his hometown   

   Liverpool for a five-parter, Running 

   Scared, about neurosis.
