 Most people going abroad for Christmas 

 are escaping the weather rather than   

 their relatives, Thomas Cook found.    

                                        

 ■ The travel agent said around 120,000 

   people would be celebrating Christmas

   on a foreign holiday this year.      

                                        

 ■ It found 46% were avoiding the       

   weather; 21% didn't want to cook and 

   only 7% were avoiding families. While

   away, nearly one in four said they   

   would head for the pub.
