----- WESTMINSTER WEEK ----- ---'-----%
THURSDAY: Home Secretary Jack Straw
said he would need time to consider the
European Court of Human Rights judgment
on the killers of toddler James Bulger.
He said the court found violations of
the European Convention on Human Rights
in respect of the trial of Robert
Thompson and James Venables, then 11.
He stressed the ruling did not overturn
the verdict, exonerate the boys or
direct their release from custody.
