bought from France. The trouble for us
shoppers is that it's hard to tell. The
only way to check if your own bird is
French is to ask it, in a nice strong

makes. If it says nothing, youWre OK.
■ Talking of handy advice, the cost of
first-class stamps is to rise by a
penny next spring. So if youWre mailing
out your Christmas cards, be smart and
send next year's as well.
