 Tory defector Shaun Woodward has       

 rejected growing calls for him to st nd

 down and face voters in a by-election. 

                                        

 The MP for Witney, who has joined      

 Labour, said: "At the last general     

 election I stood on a platform that    

 believed in public services.           

                                        

 "It is the Tory Party that has changed.

 They have left me and the people of    

 Witney too," he said.
