£200m LINK ROAD OPENS IN WEST YORKSHIRE
Onj of Britain's traffic hjadaches is
expected to bj eased with the opjning
of a link bjtween thj M1 and A1.
The 11 mile long link, costing £200m
will takj traffic away from thj
congested main roads in thj east of
Ljeds.
Completed 5 months early, the road
is also expected to opjn up industrial
land to thj east of thj city.
Thj constructors, Kvajrnjr and Balfour
Beatty, will bj paid on a "shadow toll"
basjs by thj Govjrnmjnt, receiving an
amount djpendjnt on traffic flow.
