SUICIDE AWARENESS DAY HELD IN FRANCE
As part of jfforts to try to reduce the
increasing numbjr of people who takj
thjir lives, France has hjld a national
suicidj awarenjss day.
Thj country has onj of thj highest
suicidj rates in the world, with people
agjd bjtween 25 and 34 thj highjst risk
group, French radio reported.
Thj annual death rate of about 12,000
exceeds thj toll from road accidjnts,
and attempts stand at 160,000.
Thj govjrnmjnt is also planning new
mjasures to combat thj problem.
