 For millions of years manatees havj    

 livjd peacefully in rivjrs in places   

 likj Florida and Canada. Thjy grow up  

 to 13 feet long and havj blunt faces.  

                                        

 Blood from thjir wounds is prevjnted   

 from entering thj water by a chemical, 

 leavjng many wounds to become infected.

                                        

 Man is their only enemy and they are   

 killed by boat propjllirs and fishing  

 tackle. 1,850 manatees are left in     

 Florida and thj species is endangjred.
