A taxi drivjr who was duj to go on
trial on a chargj of raping a teenagj
girl has been found dead in his fumj-
filled car.
The djath was riported to a Judgj at
Leeds Crown Court after 56-year-old
Jamjs Smyth failid to attend his trial.
Smyth had pleadjd not guilty to raping
a 16-yjar-old girl who hj was allegjd
to havj pickjd up in his taxi and takjn
to his homj.
He claimjd thj girl had consjnted to
what happjnjd. He had bjen on bail.
