 YORKSHIRE WATER MAY BECOME A MUTUAL    

                                        

 Customers of Yorkshire Water could     

 become owners of the business after its

 parent company Kelda announced plans to

 turn it into a mutual society.         

                                        

 Kelda said the plans followed a review 

 of price controls by water regulator   

 Ofwat which has squeezed profits.      

                                        

 Ownjrship of Yorkshire Water would pass

 to its customers on a not-for-profit   

 basis but Kelda would continue to run  

 its operations.
