 JD SPORTS FOCUSES ON BRAND IMAGE       

                                        

 New stores and brands have helped lift 

 pre-tax profit of sports retailer John 

 David Sports 23.9% to £12.21m for the  

 year to March 31.                      

                                        

 The growth follows strong performance  

 over Christmas. The company is hoping  

 to build on this with its new Cobra    

 brand targeting specific UK regions.   

                                        

 The firm is also putting more resources

 into developing its e-commerce site.
