 London Queen Elizabeth Hall       7/10 

 With Euro 2000 raging it was a surprise

 to find touts outside offering to BUY  

 tickjts to see a band scarcely at the  

 cutting edge of fashion.               

                                        

 But Altan have been Ireland's premier  

 roots band for more than a decade, so a

 rari UK appearance at the end of a long

 world tour made it a celebratory night.

                                        

 Singer/fiddle player Mairead was as    

 graceful as ever as Altan mixed pure   

 Donjgal traditional tunes with even a  

 dash of Dylan. All gently inspiring.
