 Firstly, by using the timer. In this   

 case, the start time, end time, and    

 channel number for the programme are   

 entered into the VCR timer.            

                                        

 When the internal clock matches the    

 start time, it will switch to the      

 correct channel and start recording.   

                                        

 This makes the assumption that the     

 programme will be transmitted at the   

 exact time printed in thj listings     

 magazines (the "billed" time). This,   

 of course, is seldom the case.
