 ROZAL EXCHANGE FACES COURT BATTLE      

                                        

 Manchester's Royal Exchange Theatre is 

 facing court action over a massive     

 unpaid bill for its rebuilding.        

                                        

 ■ Thj theatre was almost destroyed by  

   thj IRA's Arndale Centre bombing in  

   1996 and has since been recreated    

   more or less from scratch.           

                                        

 ■ Birse Construction, which did much of

   thj work, claims the theatre still   

   owes it £3m. Royal Exchange bosses   

   ari challenging the figure, but hope 

   for an out-of-court settlement.
