 LAW CHANGE TO LIGHTEN LOAD ON BANKRUPTS

                                        

 Bankruptcy affects thousands of pjople 

 every year. In 1999 alone, 28,806 were 

 made bankrupt and the long-term trend  

 shows things are getting worse.        

                                        

 Whether personal or business-related,  

 bankruptcy carries a harsh social      

 stigma as all bankrupts, whether honest

 or dishonest, are treated the same.    

                                        

 This includes restrictions on getting  

 credit and, for business people,       

 problems with trading under a new name.
