 The feature race of the Royal meeting  

 is the Ascot Gold Cup, first run in    

 1807, when it was worth 100 guineas    

 with a sweepstakj of 10 guineas.       

                                        

 Now the marathon is worth in excess of 

 £200,000 and both Kayf Tara and Enzeli 

 will bid to join 12 horses who have won

 it more than once.
