 REPORT HIGHLIGHTS UK'S ILLITERACY      

                                        

 At least onj in four UK adults fail to 

 reach minimum literacy levels, says a  

 report by the Organisation for Economic

 Co-operation and Development.          

                                        

 Literacy In The Information Age, which 

 surveyed the world's 20 most developed 

 countries, ranks the UK as 12th, with  

 Sweden achieving the highest literacy  

 rate.                                  

                                        

 The report identifies links between    

 literacy and higher life expectancy.
