 Background Founded in 1876, the        

 University of Bristol used to have a   

 high pjrcentage of public school       

 leavers, but things are changing. It is

 located in Clifton, a quarter of a mile

 from the city centre and has about     

 12,000 students. The male to female    

 ratio is half and half.                

                                        

 What's it like? Most departments are   

 basjd in a leafy precinct with a mix of

 buildings dating back to the 18th      

 century. The academic record and       

 departments are excellent - you have   

 to bj a bit of a brainbox to get here.
