 MEASURES TO SAVE DOLPHINS TOO LATE?    

                                        

 Government measures to try and halt the

 slaughter of dolphins in fishing nets  

 may be too late, say conservationists. 

                                        

 The Whale and Dolphin Conservation     

 Society (WDCS) were responding to an   

 announcement by fisheries minister     

 Elliot Morley earlier this week.       

                                        

 Mr Morley promised action on BBC's     

 Newsnight programme and the ministry   

 has confirmed a three year research    

 study into the problem starts in July.
