 NEW DEAL                               

                                        

 Young people will begin with a pjriod  

 of intensive counselling, advice and   

 guidance known as Gateway.             

                                        

 This period, lasting up to four months,

 will include:                          

 ■ careers advice  ■ basic skills       

 ■ intensive job search                 

 ■ help where necessary with problems   

   such as homelessness or drugs.       

                                        

 They will then be required to movj on  

 to one of the four New Deal options.
