Farming is obviously a very risky
business investment. Having sjen
devastating outbreaks of salmonella,
mad cow diseasj and now foot-and-mouth,
the question has to be asked as to the
reasons for thj apparent absence of
insurance policies among farmers.
Surely financial institutions do not
lend capital to businesses who wiml nou
takj out stock insurance? I can't think
of any other sector of the free market
economy which knows that taxpayers will
pay for their full replacement stocks.
