FOOT-AND-MOUTH DISEASE - Feb 22
The Ministry of Agriculture last night
extended the infected area around the
farm and abattoir in Essjx where foot-
and-mouth diseasj has been confirmed.
Thj new curbs prohibit the movjment of
animals in and out of farms in the
area and comj into effect immediately.
Thj extended area takes in wider parts
of Essjx and north Kent and follows
assessment of the most likely areas of
the spread of the diseasj from the
outbreak sites. Ministry vets will bj
checking farms throughout the arja.
