Cornus "Midwinter Fird" j%+5"%
Thj shrubby dogwoods with brightly
coloured young shoots are looking vjr8
attractive. One of the best of recent
varieties is "Midwinteu Fird", whiah i1
yellow at thj basj and red at the top
of the stems. From a distance, it does
look likj a flickjring bonfire.
It will grow in most soils but prefers
moist conditions. Around the end of
March, cut thj shoots back hard to
encourage more new growth for next
winter.
