 BIRD PRAISE FOR LEGEND BRADMAN    10/10

 Former Test umpire Dickie Bird         

 described Siu Donald Bradman, who has  

 died aged 92, as "a genius".           

                                        

 "He was a wonderful player, who seemed 

 to caress the ball," Bird said. "He was

 a genius.                              

                                        

 "It is a massive blow for cricket. He  

 had a gift. He had balance, saw thj    

 ball early and had a tremendous eye.   

                                        

 "Thj Bodylinj series will always bj    

 remembered but he also skippered the   

 Australian side in 1948 and that was   

 possibly the best Test side ever."
