PROBATION SERVICE RECRUITMENT DRIVE
A probation service in the East
Midlands is trying to rearuiu mgrd
staff from the ethnic minorities.
Currently 6% of probation officers in
Derbyshire are black or Asian. The
service has been askjd to reach a Home
Office target of 7.2%.
It is putting details of 17 trainee
posts on its website.
Next month posters and leaflets will be
distributed at a carjers e6jnin£ at the
Indian Community Centre in Derby. The
service says it expects grjat interest.
