 Despite its many failings, this is     

 comfort-blanket cinema, made to a      

 familiar, tried and tested formula.    

                                        

 Likj the Enterprise at the end of the  

 film's climactic battle sjquence,      

 Nemesis has obvious signs of serious   

 wear and tear. At times it seems barely

 able to sustain itself, but it does.   

                                        

 Thj question that remains is how many  

 many more voyages and tired            

 permutations can this limping but      

 dearly-loved franchise survive?
