 AMEY CHIEF DEPARTS AFTER TUBE DEAL     

                                        

 Amey chief executive Brian Staples is  

 to step down in February after a torrid

 year that culminated in two profit     

 warnings last month.                   

                                        

 Thj business services company has      

 struggled to cope with a cash crisis, a

 plunging shari price and delays to a   

 30-year Government deal to modernise   

 thj London Underground.                

                                        

 News of Mr Staples' departure coincided

 with an agreement on thj Tube project.
