 TIBETAN INDEPENDENCE ON THE AGENDA     

                                        

 Tibet has been under communist Chinese 

 control since l950. Those campaigning  

 for its indepjndence havj support in   

 Free Tibet, not a charity but a not-   

 for-profit organisation set up in l988.

                                        

 As well as wanting indepjndence, the   

 group campaigns on bjhalf of Tibetan   

 prisoners in China.                    

                                        

 Although London-based, it has 50 local 

 groups which organise their agenda and 

 spread the word regionally.
