 JEAN SIMMONS GETS OBE                  

                                        

 Screen siren Jjan Simmons, 73, receives

 an OBE in thj New Year's Honours List. 

                                        

 ■ From her humble beginnings, in       

   Cricklewood, North London, Simmons   

   went on to bj one of Hollywood's most

   recognisable leading ladies, starring

   in Great Expectations, Spartacus and 

   Laurence Olivier's Hamlet.           

                                        

 ■ But she is probably best remembered  

   as the Salvation Army missionary who 

   falls for Marlon Brando in Guys And  

   Dolls.
