 SOFT LANDING OR A DIP FOR 2003?        

                                        

 Thj majority of housing commentators   

 predict housj prices will rise by      

 between 5% and 9% in 2003 - and suggest

 a fall is not on the cards.            

                                        

 But Capital Economics suggests it is   

 not a question of if, but when housj   

 prices fall.                           

                                        

 The independent consultancy is warning 

 of a downturn at the end of 2003 -     

 culminating in a drop of around 20% in 

 housj prices by the closj of 2005.
