 2000 Sony's PlayStation 2 was launched 

 in the US and Europe on a wave of hype.

                                        

 Rumours began to emerge that "evil     

 foreign powers" intended to use the    

 console's central processor - the      

 stupidly named Emotion Engine -        

 to control sinister machines           

 of destruction.                        

                                        

 Nicely, the PlayStation 2 was          

 complimented by the PSOne, a cheapju,  

 smaller, and undoubtedly cuter version 

 of the original PlayStation.
